Senate

The Senate is the highest governing body for Cyprus West University’s academic matters. The rector is the president of the senate. Vice presidents, deans, institute and vocational school directors, department chairs and one faculty member from each faculty elected by the faculty boards are members of the Senate. Senate members gather at least twice yearly, at the beginning and end of the academic year.

1) Making decisions regarding the principles of teaching, research, and publications activities of the university.Preparing the drafts for rules and regulations concerning all units of the university or commenting on those
2) Preparing the regulations for the units of the university
3) Analyzing and concluding the university’s annual academic program and calendar.
4) Investigating and concluding the objections to the faculty or institute boards.
5) Electing the members for the Cyprus West University Executive Board.
6) Executing other duties assigned by the relative legislation.
