Tuition Fees for Ghanaian Students in Cyprus

For the academic year 2024-2025, the tuition fees for undergraduate programs without scholarships are $5,500. However, students can benefit from Cyprus scholarships for Ghanaian students, which provide 50%, 60%, or even 75% scholarships, reducing the tuition fee to as low as $1,375 per year. This makes studying in Cyprus from Ghana a very cost-effective option. Graduate students can also take advantage of scholarships for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, where the fee is reduced from $6,000 to $3,000 with a scholarship.

Application Process for Ghanaian Students in Cyprus

*Standard Entry Requirements for Undergraduate Programs:
- Higher Secondary School Certificate or Diploma / At least two A Levels / IB Diploma/ 5 IGCSEs or equivalent qualifications.
- Candidates must be aged between 17 and 25. Please check the minimum requirements based on your country.
*Standard Entry Requirements for the Graduate Programs:
- A Bachelor’s degree certificate is required.
Currently, we only offer an MBA program, so a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or Marketing is preferred. Students with degrees in other fields may need to take foundation courses. There is no age limit for the postgraduate program.
*Cyprus West University Language Requirements:
We accept various international language proficiency test results. However, if a language proficiency certificate is not available, students must pass the CWU language proficiency test at the B2 level to continue their studies in English or Turkish for a Bachelor’s or Master’s program.
This test will be administered by our Foreign Language School after the student arrives in TRNC. If a student does not pass the exam, they will be moved to an English preparatory course, where they can improve their language skills. Students will have up to two years ( four semesters) to achieve at least a B2 level.
*Cyprus West University Acceptable Language Proficiency tests:
The following proficiency test results are accepted for all undergraduate and graduate programs admission, provided they have been awarded within the past two years:
- APTIS: must achieve an overall CEFR score of at least B2 equivalent with at least B2 equivalent in each subcategory.
- Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English.
- (IELTS) International English Language Testing System (Academic or General Test): 5.5
- Pearson Test of English, Academic: 54 overall, with 54 in Reading and Writing elements.
- TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) : (TOEFL) IBT 65, (TOEFL) PBT: 513, (TOEFL) CBT: 183 (we do not accept Special Home Edition test).
- GCE/IGCSE: Minimum Grade C
- TOMER: B2 (For Turkish programs)

CWU Application Requirements:
We are pleased to inform prospective students that the application process for admission is completely free and conducted online. Please note that we do not accept applications submitted by mail or post. To facilitate your application, kindly ensure that the following documents are submitted along with your application form:
- A scanned copy of your High School Diploma or its equivalent and detailed mark sheets or transcripts.
- A Bachelor’s Degree Certificate and Transcripts (for Graduate Admission).
- A scanned photocopy of your passport.
- A copy of your English language proficiency test results, if applicable.
- For transfer students, a copy of your academic transcript and course descriptions.
Please note that upon registration and passing through TRNC immigration, students must present the original copies of all required documents mentioned above.
Cyprus Visa Requirements for Ghanaian Citizens
For the citizens of Nigeria, Pakistan, and Syria, they have to apply for Visa.
- The Electronic Visa (e-Visa) Application System was launched on 17 April 2013 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey. This system allows visitors travelling to Turkey to easily obtain their e-Visas online (www.evisa.gov.tr), in approximately three minutes.
It is possible to obtain e-Visa 7/24 at everywhere with internet connection. The applicants can obtain their visa after they fill in the necessary information concerning their identity, passport and travel dates and pay visa fee online.
- Please note that e-visa is only valid when the purpose of travel is tourism or commerce. For other purposes, such as work and study, visas are given by Turkish Embassies or Consulates.
- The term “official passports” covers diplomatic, service, special and official passports.
You are kindly advised to have a travel document/passport valid for at least 6 months as from the date of your arrival in Turkey.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues efforts to strengthen the e-Visa system and to better enable foreign nationals to easily obtain their visas.
In this context,
In addition to English, French, and Spanish; Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, German, Arabic and Chinese language options will be added to the e-Visa system.
- In addition to Visa and Master Card, payment is accepted from other commonly used credit cards and debit cards.
- Tour operators may apply for group e-Visas and make lump sum payments for them.
- Necessary arrangements will be made to allow foreign visitors to obtain e-Visas from authorized airline companies offices, including those companies’ offices in airports.
- Fees for e-Visas obtained via the e-Visa website (www.evisa.gov.tr) are lower than the fees for visas obtained upon arrival to Turkish airports. Information regarding visa fees can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.(http://www.mfa.gov.tr/data/KONSOLOSLUK/vize-harc-miktarlari-en.pdf).
Visa regime for truck drivers of a country may differ from the overall visa regime effective for citizens of that particular country. For further information, please contact the nearest Turkish mission.
Regardless of the visa regime applied towards the citizens of a country, the travel document holders of that country need to obtain visa from Turkish missions beforehand.
Foreigners who will shoot a documentary film conduct a research or an archeological excavation should get a special permission from the Turkish authorities in advance.
If you have a valid visa, you do not need a residence permit up to 90 days. On the other hand, foreigners who shall reside, work or study in Turkey, should register themselves at the nearest local police department upon their arrival in Turkey, regardless of the validity of their visa.
Information on Work Visa: To work in Turkey, you must apply to the nearest Turkish mission to obtain work permit and visa. Your passport, visa application form and a letter from your employer are the necessary documents for your application. Other documents should be submitted to the Turkish Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS) by your employer within ten working days after your application.
You may find the list of those documents in the MLSS’s website (http://www.csgb.gov.tr). Applications are finalized by the MLSS within thirty days at the latest. Right after your arrival in Turkey (before starting to work), you should be registered at the local police department within one month to obtain the necessary residence permit.
As of 1 January 2015, in accordance with the article 7.1b of “the Law on Foreigners and International Protection” no. 6458, foreigners wishing to enter Turkey should carry a travel document (passport) with an expiration date at least 60 days beyond the “duration of stay” of their visa, e-Visa, visa exemption, or residence permit.
The citizens of the countries which are stated at the below link are exempted form this Article;
Example A: In order to enter Turkey having a visa with 90 days “duration of stay”, foreigners should hold a travel document valid at least for an additional 60 days which totals to 150 days (90 days + 60 days) of validity at the time of entrance.
Example B: In order to enter Turkey having a visa with 30 days “duration of stay”, foreigners should hold a travel document valid at least for an additional 60 days which totals to 90 days (30 days + 60 days) of validity at the time of entrance.”
The following categories are exempted from this provision:
- Citizens of countries who are allowed to enter Turkey with their national ID’s in accordance with “European Agreement on Regulations governing the Movement of Persons between Member States of the Council of Europe”,

TRNC Visa Regulation
Students from the countries listed below are required to apply for a TRNC study visa immediately after receiving their Unconditional Acceptance Letter. It is also recommended that students check whether they need a Turkish Transit visa. Please note that possession of this visa does not guarantee entry into TRNC. The final decision will be made by immigration officers upon the student’s arrival at any TRNC port. It is mandatory and strongly advised that students carry all original educational documents, including certificates and transcripts, with them. Additionally, students should confirm their accommodation arrangements before departing from their home country.
The countries that require a TRNC visa are listed as follows:
- Syrian Arab Republic
- Federal Republic of Nigeria
- Republic of Armenia
- Pakistan
Applications must be submitted in person at the nearest TRNC Representative Office or Consulate General. Students from countries not listed above can obtain an entry visa upon arrival at any TRNC port. To enter the TRNC, you are permitted to travel with the acceptance letter from our university. Admission Decision: Your application will be reviewed promptly, and a decision will be communicated within two working days. If successful, you’ll receive a Conditional Offer Letter the following day, which you must review and confirm for accuracy.
Payment: Secure your place by making the initial deposit as instructed in your Conditional Acceptance Letter. Payment can be completed online or via Bank Transfer.
Official Acceptance: After payment verification, you will receive your Official Acceptance Letter and Payment Confirmation Letter, these documents are vital for making travel arrangements and applying for a visa.
